5 Ways to Use Signs in your Wedding

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there’s signs…Wedding Signs that is.

Have you noticed that over the last several years, the signage at weddings has really evolved? One time the only printed word was on your program and a Thank You favour.

Today Brides and Grooms are adding signs that are not only helpful but fun as well as adding to the décor and ambience of their wedding.

Here are 5 areas that I have seen some really neat wedding signs that can be used at any wedding.

Directional and Welcoming

Having an outdoor ceremony in a park or at the cottage? Guests will appreciate signage along the route directing them where to go.

Here Comes the Bride

Many venues no longer allow flower petals and confetti to be used as they cause quite a mess to clean up later. Instead of having your flower girls throw handfuls of petals or the like, how about having them hold a sign for the groom and guests to see? Watching these children walk down just before the bride caused a lot of Oohhs and Awws from the guests.

Wedding Signs at the Reception

A warm welcome to the wedding reception is always appreciated and much more enjoyable with some interesting signage. From chalkboards, to windowpanes to this lovely Hollywood theme seating chart are all ways to incorporate your wedding signs and lets guests know where to sit.

Signs that Identify

“Just married”, Bride and Groom, Mr & Mrs – wedding signs like these can add so much more to your reception décor and add that special detail that makes it yours.

Obvious but Let’s Have Fun with These Ones

I know. Everyone can probably figure out where the Candy Bar is. But isn’t it more enjoyable to have a cute rhyme or banner that personalizes it and stands out a bit more for your guests? Dressing up your card/gift area is another place to put your stamp (sign).

You can always go online to sites like Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/ca/market/wedding_signs or shop local to see who can make you want you are looking for.  This may also be a good time to ask a family member or friend that has some crafting talent to make you something as a gift.

You get the message – your wedding is a day full of love, laughter and fun with the people who mean the most to you. Adding little accents here and there are just another way to make your day memorable for everybody for years to come.
